How would I know I am not seeking anymore?

Question:

Can you please explain how would we know whether we have united or reached our self and are Pure witness right now. How do we know we are doing it right? How would I know I am not seeking anymore?

Answer:

Being a witness is as simple as looking at your mind and body and environment like a third person. As if everything is happening somewhere else. Slowly with this constant practice you will notice that you are very stable minded and even the worst criticism, the worst storm, the most difficult person does not disturb you. When you become calm amongst the most turbulent storm then you know you are doing it right. When even in that most turbulent storm, there is no thought of “I want this” and “I don’t want this”, when there is no thought of “Why this” and “Why not this”, when there is nothingness, just a quietness inside, then you know you are not seeking.

Mullah Nusserudin was travelling on a sea voyage. The ship he was travelling on was in a stormy ocean suddenly. Everybody started running here and there on the ship in panic. But Mullah was extremely calm.

Somebody asked Mullah, ‘How can you maintain your calmness like this? Aren’t you afraid of drowning?’

Mullah responded, ‘Apne baap ka kya jaata hai – What have I to lose?’

When you come to this realization that ‘I am not this body’ even then you know for sure that you are doing it right, that you have stopped seeking. Got it?

Homework: Practice non-seeking this week, come what may, I will be devoid of raaga and dvesha, I will not seek. I will do every action devoid of raaga and dvesha, spontaneously!
